Beef Cutlets for Kids with Onions and Carrots
Instructions
Cut the beef into any pieces and pass it through a meat grinder to obtain the base for the cutlet mince.
At the first stage, grate the carrot and cut the onion into half-rings. At the second stage, fry them in a frying pan. Pass the cooled mixture into the mince through the meat grinder.
Soak the bread in milk and, again using the meat grinder, turn it into one of the components of the mince.
Bind the mince with the whole egg (white and yolk).
Add salt and pepper in the amount you find acceptable.
A little magic in the form of mixing the mince and shaping cutlets of a size appealing to a child.
I heat the frying pan with 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil over medium heat. I shape the cutlets with wet hands – that way the mince does not stick and the surface comes out smooth. I fry them uncovered for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden. When the cutlets are almost done, I add 30–40 g of butter cut into pieces, cover with a lid and let them simmer for 3–4 minutes on the lowest heat. The butter makes the cutlets incredibly juicy and gives them a delicate creamy flavour that children love.Serve the finished beef cutlets for children with onions and carrots at the table. Enjoy your meal.
Tips
- 1
For maximum tenderness, pass the mince through the meat grinder twice – using the fine plate.
- 2
Add 1 tablespoon of sour cream to the mince – it will make the cutlets even more tender.
FAQ
From what age can these cutlets be given? +
Beef cutlets can be introduced into the diet from 10–12 months, starting with small portions. For little ones, reduce the amount of salt and leave out the pepper.
Why do the cutlets fall apart during frying? +
The mince is too wet or not kneaded enough. Add more bread or breadcrumbs, and be sure to knead the mince by hand for 3–4 minutes – this binds the protein.
