Fermented Apple Tea (The Easiest Way)
Instructions
Choose clean apple leaves without damage or defects. For fermentation, it is best to use the raw material right after collection. If you decide to rinse the leaves under water, lay them out on a towel to remove excess moisture. Begin placing the prepared leaves into a dry glass container. Pack them down firmly. This is an essential step when making fermented tea.
Close the container with a lid.
Cover the preparation with dark, dense fabric and place it in a warm spot (partial shade).
Depending on the air temperature in the room and the desired strength of the tea, the fermentation time can vary from 1 to 3 days. After 20-24 hours, the leaves will start to darken, and the aroma will become more intense and pleasant.
Once the preparation has acquired the texture we need, move on to processing it further.
Chop the leaves by any method convenient for you, or use whole apple leaves for making the tea.
Spread the raw material onto a baking sheet (in a 1-2 cm layer) and place it in the oven (90-100 degrees). Dry the fragrant mixture with the door slightly open.
The drying time for the fermented apple tea can vary from 2 to 6 hours. Pour the dried raw material into a linen or cotton bag, hang it on a rope, and leave it in a dry room or outdoors for 2-3 days. After that, place the fermented apple tea into suitable dry containers. Use the preparation for a fragrant drink for 6-10 months.
